Following on from Nangs 50th and 100th releases from Loudery, we pull off a prosaic feat of sequential engineering with Nang 150; a new track from Nang Label head-honcho, Loudery.
"Ponies It's the Flowertruck" could be an ode to a country walk or could be a title generated at random on a funky internet "name your song" site. We aren't sure to be honest. But enough about the name, onto the music. Take 1) large slab of 80s synths (Jupiter 8s, the trusty MKS 7 and the System 700) 2) a big dose of swinging Linn Drum 3) some twangy, plucky Stratocaster and 4) the Prague Philharmonic Orchestra. Those are the ingredients, now set the style guide to an ABC "Lexicon of Love" instrumental b-side and set to brew on a steamy hard drive for 15 months (yeah that is about how long it takes Loudery to finish a single track).
First up on the remix duty is Nang good ol' buddy, Sare Havlicek. He goes all "Paul Hardcastle" on us... his remix is full of stutters, stabby bass and slick smooth 80’s bell riffs. N-n-n-nineteen. Next its off to Russia for a treat from long-term label stalwarts Acos Coolkas. Its quite apt that they remixed the first ever Nang release and also the 150th. Their crispy cold synth-funk is a real treat. Things round off with an instrumental version and the obligatory "orcapella", the 30 piece Prague Philharmonic Orchestra string section in all their lushness.
Stay tuned for more from Loudery, probably around the 200 mark... if the trade winds blow smooth of course. Out soon too, more swell releases from your favourite London based Nu Disco, 80s, Synthtastic label.
